Trophy Story One

WHAT IS THE TROPHY?

The CPL North Star Cup
Awarded to the champions of the Canadian Premier League playoffs – the pinnacle of Canadian club football. Bold, modern, and full of ambition, this trophy marks the rise of a league forging its own legacy.

REASONS TO CELEBRATE

HERITAGE
While the league is young, its spirit runs deep. A symbol of a growing football culture from Halifax to Vancouver Island.

HISTORY
Introduced in 2019, the CPL has already delivered dramatic playoff runs, last-gasp goals, and fierce rivalries. The North Star Cup replaced the original “North Star Shield” in 2023 – evolving along with the league’s vision.

PRIDE
It’s more than just silverware. It’s a statement of national identity, homegrown talent, and a future where Canadian football stands on its own two feet.

TROPHY CHANT

“True North. One Champion.”
In a country stitched together by distance, this trophy unites coast to coast.
The star doesn’t just point north – it belongs there.
